December 2010
Dear Reader,

One more year comes to a close. 2011 stands ready to begin, ready or not.

I love this time of the year for its theme of giving and its religious import. For the next couple of weeks, I will spend the time with my immediate and extended family. We’ll catch up on our children’s lives, what we’ve been doing, and our goals for the next year. We’ll sit around the table eating the delicious meals that will make up the holiday menu and possibly go back for seconds. In the evening, we’ll play cards, board games, and warm up our voices and fingers to play Rock Band.

Before I depart to spend time with the family, I want to extend my appreciation for your support. Each fan is very special to me and taking the time to read my stories warms my heart. This year Trail of Kisses (February) and The Millionaire’s Ultimate Catch (October) were released, which finalized the Ladies of Distinction series. A donation from The Millionaire’s Ultimate Catch sales will be donated to Haitian charities, as promised.

This year I also finished up my term as president of Romance Writers of America. The experience was rich and fulfilling. Serving the community of romance fiction writers was an honor. Having a successful annual conference in Orlando, FL was a great culmination of the organization’s accomplishments.

Earlier this year, I also discovered a young German band called Tokio Hotel. I went to Milan, Turin, and Padova with my daughter and friends to see them in concert. The trip also doubled for great research and story ideas, not to mention shopping at the great fashion houses. I look forward to creating stories with an Italian setting.

I’ll be giving away books from my backlist released 2009 and earlier until December 31, 2010. Simply email me with your address (michellemonkou@comcast.net) and you will receive a book. One book per person and until supplies last.

Have a safe and happy holiday season.

See you in 2011!

Michelle
