The most important things in my life are family, work and reading! Family includes my husband, Gregory and our two cats. Kittybaby, age 15, is more characteristic of a dog. He follows my husband everywhere, gets jealous when we are embracing, and begs for table food. Max, age 12, is a lap kitty who mostly sleeps on a lap or any other body part that is horizontal.

Gregory and I are avid DYIers. We love to remake a room or add onto our collection of outbuildings. Currently we are building a Barn for my husband. My favorite makeover is our kitchen. Itís amazing what a few changes can do to a room. I especially love to watch my husband cooking in there ;)

We love to travel. We have a deep love of nature and national history. We have visited well over a hundred national parks. Weíve spent time on many battlefields, especially in Virginia and along the east coat. Weíve also enjoyed many wonderful scenic parks such as Bryce Canyon and the Blue Ridge Mountains. My mecca has to be the Smoky Mountains, especially in the fall.

My favorite pastime is reading and anything connected with books. For me, itís as enjoyable to discuss books as it is to read them. I can get together with friends for hours and discuss nothing but the great books Iíve read. Over the last couple years Iíve formed some great friendships which started from our mutual love of romance reading. I love my online time with my reading friends or just looking up books to read. Iíve also joined some small groups which have a common love of reading. We sometimes swap, enjoy games, or just love to ďtalkĒ with each other. In many ways itís slowed down my reading, but yet enriched it so much.

My favorite memory related to books has to be the time my mom and I watched a movie based on a book we both loved. We lived states apart, but at every commercial we were grabbing the phone and picking apart the entire movie. We hated this, we liked this, we thought this was good, and so on. To this day we will reminisce about that evening and laugh over how horrible the movie was. I have long ago forgotten how high the phone bill was, but Iíll always remember the commercial breaks on the phone with my mom!

My life is a satisfying one. I have a happy homelife with a wonderful husband and two spoiled cats. I lead a full life with work, hobbies and travel. To top it off, I live a very rich life filled with great friends and books! What could be better!

Lee, I love the website! Great job!!

Here's a photo of fireworks in Dusseldorf on New Year's Eve, '05.
Axel, my husband, has family there and we fly out every year for a few weeks to spend some time with his parents.

I've been reading books avidly since I was in my early teens and hate to admit that I got caught out several times in class when I was reading a novel rather than my text books! Poor Axel has resigned himself to the fact that one day we'll have to move into a warehouse just to accommodate my book collection... and you don't even want to know the astronomical costs when it comes to moving house with a library this size!

At the moment I'm reading an older book called LETTERS TO KELLY by Suzanne Brockman. It's had me reaching for the tissue box several times already and I'm only half way through. But I'm loving it.

I enjoy books by Joy Fielding, Jane Green, Janet Evanovich, Marian Keyes, Judith Gould, Kay Hooper, Carla Cassidy, Tami Hoag, Tess Gerritsen, JD Robb, Linda Howard, Rachel Gibson and more. Anything contemporary will do! I also love meeting people who are readers. It's always interesting discuss books!

As I'd mentioned in my email, we've recently moved to Bahrain and I'm still in the process of settling in but once I've unpacked completely, I'd love to send you more photos of our travels if you don't mind getting more than one entry in your scrapbook!

I never know what to say in these little intro posts so here goes....

Once upon a time there was this girl who.....oh wait....wrong story...let me start again. :)

I'm Fatin, also known as Mad out in the WWW world. :) I'm a married, stay-at-home mom of 4 girls, ages 15, 13, 9 & 3.5.

My love of reading began when I was a child but my love of romance books didn't begin until my oldest daughter was two months old. She was always napping and you can only watch so much soap operas and talk shows before you go numb. *G* So one day, right after we did some grocery shopping, we walked to the bookstore next door and I browsed for books. Ended up taking two home with me that day, THE SECRET by Julie Garwood and LACY by Diana Palmer. The next day I went back and bought the rest of the Garwoods they had and ordered the ones they didn't have by her. The rest, as they say, was history.

Reading opened up a whole other world for me and when I came online in the summer of 1999 and found the various book chats and Yahoo! groups, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. :) Here were others with the same addiction and I loved it. Now my TBB list is never completed, my TBR is overflowing and my Keepers Bin is always getting books added to it.

In addition to Julie Garwood and Diana Palmer, some of my other favorite authors are: Susan Fox, Linda Howard, Judith McNaught, Lisa Kleypas, Johanna Lindsey, Kinley MacGregor/Sherrilyn Kenyon, Sarah McCarty, Lora Leigh, Ginna Gray, Cherry Adair, Loretta Chase, Tami Hoag, Lorraine Heath, Norah Hess, Fiona Brand, Tori Carrington, Linda Devlin, Gaelen Foley, Sandra Hill, Nicole Jordan, Lois Greiman, Sharon Sala/Dinah McCall, Teresa Medeiros, Jodi Thomas, Kay Hooper, Judy Christenberry, Gina Wilkens, Marie Ferrarella & Laurie Paige. I have more but I'll stop for now. :)

The photograph I've submitted is of our City Lake here in North Carolina. It's where local and non-local residents like to go to hang out. It's got a half mile loop around it so you can always find people walking throughout the day and on nice days, families come out and have picnics there, go fishing, feed the ducks, use the gazebo, take pictures or just set up nets and play games. We've had several people even use it as their wedding location because it's so beautiful. It's one of our favorite places to go in town.
