January 2007 marks the publication of the very first book in the Mills & Boon Modern Romance series of brand new author Abby Green. Abby lives in Ireland so she chose the Dublin city as the venue for a party to launch CHOSEN AS THE FRENCHMAN'S BRIDE. The book launch was held on Friday January 12 th in the Odeon Bar -one thing's for sure - Irish writers know how to throw a great party.

The bar was filled with a large crowd of friendly, welcoming, interesting and interested people. Abby works in the film industry as an assistant director, and so many work colleagues drivers, make up artists, costume designers and other members of the production team came to help her celebrate along withy family and other friends. There were also plenty of people from the world of romance writing that Abby is now part of who had come to join the party. 6 Mills & Boon editors flew over from Richmond. Fellow Irish writer Trish Wylie (who writes for both Romance and Modern Extra) came from the North of Ireland, Presents author Kate Walker was there, as was another Presents author, Susan Stephens who had put in effort above and beyond the call of duty to get there. Susan's plane flight from Leeds was cancelled because of the gales, Doncaster airport flight was full Manchester grounded - so she and her friends took a taxi to Teeside and finally landed just in time to make it to their hotel and then to the Odeon Bar where the event was held.

Everyone was delighted and thrilled that Abby had her first book published and the large number of copies she had ready to sign disappeared in a matter of minutes. She had asked people to make donations to a cancer charity in return for a signed book - in memory of Abby's Mother who died of the disease some years ago., and from the way that the donation boxes filled up it was obvious that everyone had been giving generously.

Abby dancing the Tango

An important connection with Abby's mother brought a very special guest to the party. There was plenty of wine , food, soft music and one of the highlights of the evening was a demonstration of tango dancing Abby dances the tango she's a multi-talented lady! And everything they say about the hot, intense sensuality of that dance is true. It's no wonder that Abby understand the hot intensity and passion needed write a great Presents novel it's obviously in her blood.

The party went on into the early hours of the morning and every single one of the guests enjoyed every minute of it. Abby's first book was well and truly launched in style. And to cap the celebrations, she also received her first hardback copies of her second book. THE BRAZILIAN'S BLACKMAIL BARGAIN to make the day just perfect.
